Hiya everyone. Unfortunately I am not going to include pics this time in this mini tutorial due to being a little strapped for time in comparison to other times. I want to make this though so because I want to give everyone here (who wants to read) an equal chance to do gifs the exact same way I do.

Now I have always been a visual quality freak, which is why I have owned around 5 catpure devices in 7 years (only 3 work to this day). as I have always wanted to make better visual quality videos (LIKE THIS ONE! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQZkNpLlgPM). Of course this has extended to images too. I mean I personally do not believe that there is any valid excuse for 360-PS3 era console images to be at least 720P resolution (and quality) and for Xbox One/PS4 no less than 1080P because of it's own built in screenshot method.

Anyways the first thing I use is a capture card. I have 3 currently but my Elgato HD 60 S has hands down the highest quality (at the cost of massive video files) and I use it for continous sequences of high speed because of it's non macroblocking nature.

Gifs like these with non regular aspect ratio can take some more time to make.

Anyways regardless of how I record I then put it in my video recorder, I use Corel Video Studio and it has a render feature called "Unlead Image Sequence" that makes the program pass every frame of a specific sequence (works best if the video source is 60FPS) as an individual image. There are probably more ways to do this but this is how I do it.

Then I use Irfanview, it has many features but I only use the Gif Maker. For some reason the gifs come out slow if you leave it at 1 rather than 2 so I leave it at 2 (second lowest). I am talking about delay I mean btw.Depending on how many individual images importing may take a good minute. Now the fun part is that Wiki's allow you to upload up to 9.9 megs max each gif so you have to balance size and lengh. I usually have to guess a bit but eventually I get it. Then upload to the wiki. Corel Video Studio does cost real money though and this method might not be for everyone.

Gifs like the stunned Ibuki to the right (thanks for removing them from the page btw, they had more effort than usual to make put to them). took some more steps to make. First I needed to use the hard and annoying to use SFV camera mod. I pushed the Ibuki to the corner with her opponent and then by Trial and Error had to on the fly find the right angle. Once I did I simply stunned her once again and jumped away from the frame with the character I was controlling ASAP. Then in post production I cropped the image but Corel doesn't natively support custom rendering resolutions so I rendered the video as 1080P.

Now if I just used that file for images Ibuki would have looked like Big Ibungus (Big Chungus Reference) due to the stretched image so I then used a video converter called Handbreak that is made to convert hard to use files. I rendered it with the same Bitrate and same coded (since I am a quality freak) but manually saw how much I cropped the images then used the percentages from the aspect ratio (so we can say 66% of 1920 and 40% of 1080, those were not the real numbers, just an example) and put the resulting numbers in handbreak. The outputted file had Ibuki back in her petite proper size and scale. Now I used that file to output the images for the gif (since Corel allows for custom resolution of images but not videos for some reason) then I just used Irfanview as usual. Anyways later everyone.
